Our first annual Community Key Ladies-Only 9-Hole Golf Tournament was a hole-in-one!
With golfers coming from the Yukon, Edmonton, Banff, Calgary and Okotoks, it was the perfect fall day to come together for a great cause. With a mix of experienced golfers and women who had never picked up a club before, it was a day filled with laughter and a lot of heart.
The ladies took to the golf course with a shotgun start at 2 PM where they were greeted by our Hole Sponsors who were ready with games, sweet treats, and awesome giveaways. Everyone’s golf bags were full at the end of the day with all of the swag our sponsors handed out.
We have to thank Deeded, FNF Canada, MCAP, Merix, and RMG, Rebel Haus Studio, Accurate Home Inspections, First National Financial, VWR Capital, SMiiL Heights, Home Auto Life, Equitable Bank, and The Canal at Delacour Golf Club for all their help and support at each hole. All our sponsors brought their A-Game!
Elysse and Ava of SMiiL Heights set up their own S’more Fire Pit on Hole 7 where they hosted the Longest Marshmallow Drive. Brett Roessel of FNF Canada had a mobile office set up on Hole 2, with multiple giveaways for Flames tickets. Kim McIntosh of Rebel Haus Studio had prizes galore with stickers, free eyelashes, eyeliner, and brow shaping gift certificates. And Lisa Bartlett, Stephen Parama, Russell Veronelly of First National Financial on Hole 6 handed out some of the most delicious caramel apples we’ve ever had…and those were only some of the prizes on the course!
After a fun-filled round of golf in which you could hear laughter at every hole, we gathered back at the clubhouse. Everyone took their chances at winning some truly awesome prizes on the putting green by “putting” their skills to the test. Thank you so much to Kristy Maxwell of Verico Canada for hosting and getting all our players to buy tickets on the green.
We ended the day with cocktails, dinner, and prizes. Thanks to our volunteers and sponsors, we had over $4,500 worth of prizes donated to the event! We truly cannot thank everyone who donated gift cards, services, and gift baskets to the event.
As a surprise, Okotoks Elks Club, and one of our attendees, Sherry Lindenback, donated an additional $1,000 to Community Key. We cannot thank Okotoks Elks Club enough for their donation and support—it is what these events are all about.
Alongside the surprise donation, this event raised over $20,000 for Community Key between ticket sales, sponsorship contributions, and donations.
As the evening went on, we heard so many people asking the all-important question: "When’s next year’s tournament?" Rest assured, we might already be in the planning stages for 2025 for something bigger and better!
A Big Thank You to Our Sponsors
None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our sponsors.
